My Sentimental Journey
I'm from the late 50s-60s genre of music, also known as the DO-WOP era. It was a time of innocence, when we wore our boyfriend's class ring around our neck or on our finger where the band was usually wrapped in layers of fuzzy angora, just to make it fit. We wore poodle circle skirts, bobby sox and saddle shoes or penny loafers. It seemed that the music of that era was about love, breaking-up, heartaches and fun. We were able to understand most of the lyrics and none of them were "bleeped out" or "rated X". Perhaps I have overly-rooted myself into my teen years and adamantly resisted change, but I still crave The Stroll, The Pony, The Twist and Drive-In movie theaters where even the often stale popcorn tasted good!!!
